The Looking Machine only does one function - to look. The Looking Machine is a pair of nostalgic CRT TVs playing TV test patterns as a graphical representation of eyes. The eyes on the TVs would look at and follow the movement of any person who is in front of them. A high pitch sound, which is always the company of TV test patterns, would alter its frequency based on the audience position. The Looking Machine is a device that has recorded a generation's childhood experience of watching television test signals through a personified representation of test cards and plays back the experience through the interaction with it.
